Sulfur hexafluoride gas, owing to its excellent insulation and arc-extinguishing properties, is widely utilized in high-voltage electrical equipment. Globally, 50% of the produced sulfur hexafluoride is used in the power industry, with 80% of it being employed in high-voltage switchgear. In China, over 90% of the fully sealed ring main units in operation rely on sulfur hexafluoride gas as the insulating medium.
